Burglary Suspect Arrested

At 9:14 am this morning, a former Sheriff’s Department Detective came upon an
apparent burglary in progress in the 1900 block of Cherry Street, Yuba City. The former
Detective was driving at the intersection of Harding Road and Cherry Street when he
observed a white male climb through a broken garage window. The former detective
parked his car and investigated to discover that the door leading from the garage into the
interior of the home had been broken off of the hinges and the suspect was moving
around inside the residence. The suspect attempted to exit out of the garage window and
was confronted by the former detective. The suspect fled back into the residence and out
through a bedroom window at the front of the residence. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and
saw the suspect climb out of the front bedroom window and chased the suspect on foot.
The deputy lost sight of the suspect near the 1900 block of Jacob Street.
Sheriff’s deputies and detectives set up a perimeter with the assistance of Yuba City
Police officers. A Sheriff’s Deputy K-9 was deployed and located the suspect hiding in
the bushes in the 1900 block of Jacob Street.
Ryan Patrick Lynn, 18 years old out of Yuba City was taken into custody and booked
into Sutter County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, vandalism,
destruction of evidence, and resisting arrest.
