Human Remains Found

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, at approximately 6:10 P.M., Sutter County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the river bottom area of Garden Highway and Lee Road (also known as Beer Can Beach) for a report of possible human remains found. The remains were discovered by two fishermen in the area.
Deputies confirmed that the remains, two severed limbs, are human. Sheriff’s Detectives were called to the scene and initiated an investigation. Due to the danger of the terrain and low light, the scene was secured overnight and the investigation continued the next morning.
On Sunday, March 14, 2010, approximately six feet up hill from the first discovery the night before Detectives located a human head in the berry bushes.
A request was made for the assistance of cadaver dogs from Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue and California OES Search and Rescue. The immediate area of the scene was searched by all six dogs with no further results.
A Forensic examination is scheduled today to determine if the remains are male or female.
