For Immediate Release:
Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies aided by underage Sheriff’s Cadets participated in a shoulder tap alcohol buy program which resulted in the arrest of three individuals. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two males in separate incidences, after they were approached by underage Sheriff’s Cadets and agreed to purchase alcohol for them. These incidents occurred outside of the Quick Stop Market, 1620 Lincoln Road, Yuba City. The males were identified as:
- Stevie Ray Thomas Jr., 25, Yuba City, arrested on a charge of sale/furnishing alcohol to a minor and a parole violation. Thomas was booked into the Sutter County Jail.
- Thomas Gene Trent, 44, Biggs, was cited and released on a citation charging him with sale/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
The third incident occurred outside of the AM/PM Market, 1332 Bogue Road, Yuba City. The person arrested was identified as:
- Ryan Thomas Rodello, 24, Yuba City, was cited and released on a citation charging him with sale/furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
There were numerous other patrons solicited during the shoulder tap operation but they refused to purchase alcohol for the underage cadets. The shoulder tap program is part of an on-going effort by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department to reduce availability of alcohol to minors in our community.
