Operations Division

Operations Division is comprised of the Investigations Section, the Patrol Section and the City of Live Oak contract services. Captain Lewis McElfresh commands and oversees division operations.

The Investigations Section primarily concerns the investigation of felony cases as well as follow-up of coroners’ investigations, public administrator cases, and complex misdemeanor cases, or other cases as assigned by the Sheriff. The Patrol Section has the responsibility for providing law enforcement services to Sutter County and includes contract services for the City of Live Oak.
