Live Oak Substation

The City of Live Oak contracts with Sutter County to provide law enforcement services
to approximately 7,500 citizens in Live Oak. Sheriff’s Deputies operate out of a substation
located at
9867 O St.,
at the corner of Fir and O Streets. The substation is staffed by
seven patrol deputies, one sergeant, and one lieutenant.

Lieutenant James Casner is assigned as the commander of the Live Oak Substation. In his position
Lieutenant Casner oversees the law enforcement operations in the Live Oak contract area. Lt. Casner
also acts as the conduit between the Sheriff’s Department and the Live Oak City Council and City Officials.
Supported by the City of Live Oak, the first police service dog specifically for the City was
purchased and trained earlier this year. The police service dog was purchased by the City through
grant funds.
