Dive Team

Sutter County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team provides search and recovery operations in underwater environments within the County as well as surrounding jurisdictions when requested. Dive team operations also include assisting in the investigation of water related crime scenes and gathering and documenting any underwater evidence. As a special operations unit, the dive team is available to deploy 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Because of the hazardous nature of diving in underwater environments especially in dark and murky water or during heavy river flows with strong currents, safety of operations is a primary concern. Dive team members must be strong swimmers, have advanced SCUBA certification, be comfortable in "black" water and zero visibility environments, and have a commitment for regular training and practice to ensure skills review and proficiency.
